This couple wanted to replace the tiled floor in their newly bought home by a parquet floor and desired a fireplace in their living room. The chimney had to be in a style which is not too classic, nore too modern. The element had to "dissapear" into the interior. I designed a sober chimney, in which the fireplace was emphasized by a natural stone frame. The chimney was painted in a lighter colour than the surrounding walls in order to make the element optically look smaller. |

The former living room and dining room at this customer were extended, the groundfloor needed redecoration. I was asked to come up with creative and unconventional proposals, in line with the current interior decoration trends. Husband and wife both love the same style: modern design and lounge, the ambiance had to be cosy and warm, with exotic accents placed in the right setting. |

For her newly acquired penthouse, this retired lady wanted a contemporary interior, with a warm and cosy ambiance and harmony in the choice of materials and colours. She did not want to take any of her existing furniture with her, so all furniture, carpets, curtains, lighting and flatscreens are new. In the living room and dressing all cupboards are taylor-made, the new plasma TV was incorporated in an aesthetic way. For her comfort air-conditioning is foreseen in the living room and in the master bedroom. CD and DVD player, radio and juke box, although placed inside a closed cupboard, are remotely controllable without opening the cabinets. In the bathroom the existing bath tub and toilet were replaced by a shower (easy access). The electricity plan involved additional lighting, all lights are dippable. |

![]() |
Upon retirement, this couple decided to make over their living space. Their desires: a cosy atmosphere, natural tones, harmony in the choice of materials and colours. On top of the existing tiled floor, massive parquet was placed. A new fireplace was built and a taylor-made cabinet was put in place for the new plasma screen, in the same style as the chimney. In the dining room the window was moved and the ceiling was pulled up in order to provide additional space. New lighting, wallpaper, curtains, sofas and coffee tables were added. |

3D-design d'une chambre d'enfants

Lara is a darling ; sweet, playful and always in a good mood ; soon she will share her room with a newborn little brother or sister. I designed a dream-room for them ; light, bright and friendly. The space was arranged in such way that the kids can play together and have their own space ; functional furnishings evolve as the children grow up. Lara's favourite colours, pink and purple, return in the wallpaper with frieze, in the blind with the playful curtains and in cushions, fittings, ... Toys and books are stored on open layers, in a small cabinet and in colourful boxes. The central part of the room is for playing. At first the cradle finds its place opposite Lara's bed, between the kids' separate wardrobes; under the canopy the baby feels safe. Under the bunk-bed mummy (or daddy) feeds the baby in a cosy seat, while Lara swings, plays on her carpet or just watches them from her fuchsia Fatboy. In the small cupboard, mummy finds books she can read from to the chilren, while Lara nestles on the cabinet between the soft cushions. Next to the high-bed mummy changes the baby on the handy chest. Later the space under the bunk-bed is adapted: Lara's brother or sister gets his/her own space under Lara's bed, the chest is transformed into a desk, the cradle makes room for a second desk. Each child can decorate its own space and by adding a voile, a blind, ... both refuges can be separated even further, so that the children have more privacy. By separating the working spaces, the children will easily concentrate on their homework. |

For her bathroom, this customer wanted natural materials, rounded forms and warm colours. The stairs, the shower unit and the wash-basin were designed with rounded forms. The use of niches provide a Moroccan atmosphere. Main materials used: tadelakt (*) dyed in terracotta and sand tones, ceddar wood for the ceiling and zelliges (Moroccan tiles) for some parts of the walls. |
(*) Tadelakt is a lime plaster, generally produced out with lime of the area of Marrakesh. It is the traditional coating of the palaces, hammams and bathrooms of the riads in Morocco. It is characteristically polished with a river stone and treated with a soft soap to acquire its final appearance. Its aspect is soft, with undulations due to the work of the stone. It can be made water-tight, which also makes it suitable for bathtubs and wash-basins.

![]() |
This young, successful businessman dreams about an oriental terrace, overlooking his zen garden. Privacy is very important, the design needed to be cosy and restful, offering a beautiful view from his master bedroom and requiring minimal maintenance. I choose the theme of a Japanese garden. Some important elements are rocks, cobble-stones and other natural materials like wood and natural stone. The different "rooms" divide the long terrace into compartments and add character. Harmony is created through the balanced use of lines and patterns, the forms of the plants and colour. The fences offer privacy and protect from sunshine and heat. Many of the furniture, the pots and the decoration can be moved for flexibility reasons. The disturbing airco is hidden behind a waterelement. Plants were chosen in function of their adaptability to our climat, their added value to the theme, their harmonious combination of (contrasting) forms and textures and their maintenance requirements. They offer a -limited- palette of colours in every season, also during winter. Bamboo is omnipresent. This design involves all senses: apart from sight ; also odour, taste and sound get the right attention. |

Initially our customer wanted to keep their existing furniture and only replace the floor, the cupboard-top, some appliances and the wallpaper and install a new side-by-side, a dining table and curtains. After a nice discussion over several cups of coffee, they followed my proposal to replace the complete kitchen. So I redesigned the kitchen, extended it and divided it completely differently. We went for practical cupboards with lots of storage space and in the new extension we built an "appliance wall". The ceramic floortiles match the granulate cupboard-top, a dining table provides place for 4 people. The mauve and green paint create a sunny, yet classy atmosphere. Now the lord of the house shows his cooking talents in a modern kitchen, while his family enjoys their daily soap on the flatscreen, incorporated in an niche above the window. |

![]() |
The young owners of this bed and breakfast wanted to decorate their 4 guestrooms in a tasteful but low budget way. With respect for the peaceful setting of their domain, which invite people to rest, we opted for a minimalistic design in natural, "earth" tones. Artisanal objects (African tribal art and Portuguese lamps), found at local markets, provide the finishing touch. |
